Manali
(570 km/14 hrs Drive from Delhi)An orchard valley nestled at an elevation of 2050 meters above sea level scattering along the banks of the river Beas, it is impossible to express the grandeur, beauty, scale and the sense of wonder, awe and romance that Manali conjure in the state Himachal Pradesh in few words. Tourist Attractions In Manali
Manali Sanctuary:
Covering 3,180 hectares of land, it is one of the most visited tourist attractions in the state of Himachal Pradesh. This sanctuary is situated around 2 km from Manali main town. One can take a route from log huts through Dungri temple in Manali which leads through dense Deodar, Kail, Horse chestnut, Walnut and Maple forests into the sanctuary. Brown bear, Musk deer, Leopard and Snow leopard are some of the species seen here. Herds of Ibex are also seen in the glacier region in summers. The best time to visit this sanctuary is between October to February.
Temple Of Manu ( creator of human race on the earth ) :
Located in old Manali, at a distance of three kilometers from the main marketplace, Manu temple is devoted to the Indian wise Manu, who is said to be the Godhead of the world and the writer of Manusmriti. Though temple is situated in a engorged place it is said to be the only temple of Manu in the world and visitors from across the sphere travel to visit it. The aesthetic location of Manu Temple, on the bank side of river Beas, adds to its attractiveness.
Village Vashist:
Being one of the most interesting places to be visited in Manali; Vashist, a little village is touristed for its earthy baking hot water springs that can be observed by visiting the place. The village is also dwelling to galore Buddhist temples because majority of the localized residents are Buddhist. One can plan to be here around Dussehra as the festival is celebrated here with great rejoice or the best reason to make it to the place is for a warm soak in the springs.

The Winter Carnival :
A five-day event in Manali celebrated annually in the month of January. Its this time, the city is covered with a clogged layer of snow and the celebrations start rolling all over the city. From the worship of the Goddess in Hidimba Devi temple to various cultural events and sports that are organized during this time, it attracts large amount of tourists and is the ideal time to visit the hill station.
Popular Excursions From Manali
Rohtang Pass (50 Km)
Providing a genuine exciting sight, Rohtang Pass nestling at 4,112 m is the highest point on the Manali-Keylong road, 51 km from Manali town. It offers a broad enchanting view of mountains rising far above clouds.
Jagatsukh Temple (6 Km)
About 6-km from Manali, it is one of the largest villages in Kullu famous for its Shiva temple that is built in "shikhara" way and nearby located old and interesting Devi Sharvati shrine.
Arjun Gufa (5 Km)
Lying on the left bank of the Beas, 5 km from Manali, is the Arjun Gufa or the Arjuna Cave. Its popular because of its historic importance as its been said that Arjuna practiced austerities to get Pashupata Ashtra or weapon from Lord Indra.
Kothi (12 Km)
12 km from Manali at the foot of Rohtang Pass lies this beautiful pretty village known as Kothi. As the River Beas flows through a very intense and constricting gorge at this point it provides an absolute exotic view. The well managed Public Works Department (PWD) rest house is a popular place for overnight stays.
Beas Kund (50 Km)
Lying near Rohtang Pass, it is the reservoir of river Beas and is easily accessible. Its historic importance implies that the great wise, Vyas performed `Tapa' here during the Mahabharat times and the spot is still sacred by the heavenly ignition. It was because of this that the river Beas got its name.
