Arunachal Pradesh, India
Widely known as the land of the rising sun Arunachal Pradesh is the easternmost state of India.Much of its area is stretched by the Himalayas ranges thereby separating it from China. The state holds about 83, 573 sq km, being the rich source land of flora, fauna, power and mineral wealth. This mystical land was known as the North East Frontier Agency of Assam until it became independent on 20th February, 1987.

Itanagar
The capital city of Arunachal Pradesh since 20th April 1974 is tucked on top of low flat hills. Ziro
This town is located 150 km from Itanagar and is at an altitude of 5754 ft from the sea level. The place treasures some picture perfect scene of Pine and Bamboo groves, villages, a craft center and Tarin Fish Farm. Also known as Apatani Plateau, this place comprises the quite flow of rivers and is an ideal destination for adventure lovers.

Dirang
It is located in the West Kameng district. The place is sand witched between Bomdila & Tawang and is holy land to the localities and as well as to the foreigners.

Bomdila
This headquarters of the West Kampeng District is at height of 2, 530 m. The place has a great imprints of Buddhist culture and also offers a panoramic view of Himalayan landscapes and snow clad ranges.

Bhalukpong
Located in the West Kameng District of Arunachal Pradesh, Bhalukpong makes a worthy visit. The place has great picnic spot with an excellent wild habitat for a number of flora and fauna. Adventure sports are also a benchmark of the area.

Tezu
The place is head-quarter in the Lohit District, which shimmers primarily in winter season when a fair (mela)is organised during Makar-Sankranti. A number of visitors are encountered in this festival.
Highlights : Parasuram Kund and the Glow Lake.
Tawang
It is located on the Western part of the state and hugs a mountain side at 12000 ft above sea level. The place is famous for its 400 year old Buddhist monastery, which was dip-rooted in the 17th century.
Highlights : Tawang Monastery, Nunneries comprising of three Ani Gompas.
Bhismaknagar
This holy heritage site is located in Dibang Valley district of Arunachal Pradesh. As per history Bhismaknagar was a strong hold of the Chutiyas in 12th-16th centuries BC. The place also speaks for the Catholic spirit of the ancient Indians and the contribution of Indus to the Indian culture
Highlights : Archaeological ruins of Bhismaknagar Fort and Dibang Valley.
Akashiganga
This significant place is 12 km from Malinithan, West Siang District of the state. As per the Hindu Mythology, this place co-relates the legend of 8th century Kalika Purana. The place provides a majestic bird's eye view of the great Brahmaputra river and thereby calls for a remarkable tourist visit.

Architectural Heritage of Arunachal Pradesh
The north eastern state of Arunachal Pradesh is noteworthy for its architectural heritage. A unique work of traditional tribal architecture with ancient Buddhist elements can be easily traced with a glimpse of the Tawang Monastery and other Gompas within the valley. The huts, temples and houses constructed in the tribal villages highlights the Tibetan architectural rules. The state is highly dominated by tribal people of Tibeto-Burman origin. Their strange cultural belief lies in animal sacrifice in any of the tribal occasions. The Losar festival of the Monpas and the Ojiyale of the Wanhos are celebrated with pomp and grandeur. With weaving and crafting as their prime occupation the fun loving natives are keen in dance and music of their kinds. Dances like igo dance, war dance etc depict their socio-cultural heritage and are only restricted to male groups. Songs like Ja-Jin-Ja ,Baryi, Nyioga etc involve the words about wild animals and daily lives.
Famous Cuisines of Arunachal Pradesh
Cuisine is Arunachal Pradesh are mainly non-vegetarian type. The local people celebrate their festivals with local dishes and drink. They generally take boiled food and are very fond of pickles. Apong is the most popular local drink, served with a plate full of momos( staffing of minced meat and onion).Other delicious food staffs are Zan(mixture of millets with water and flour), Khura (monpa pancake)and Gypa-Khazi(pulao)

A range of fashionable craft works like painting, weaving, pottery, carpet making, basketry, smithy work, woodcarving, bamboo work and cane work is the cream of the market. Bomdila is the popular craft center of the state. A number of colorful carpets, mask and Buddhist artifices are available in the market. Also the shops at Tawang are arranged with a variety of shawls, jackets and religious items .One can also buy scented Agarbatti (incense sticks)and Tangkha paintings from the local stores.
