Namdhapha Nationa Park
Jungle Highlights: Barking Deer, Tiger, Elephant and leopard.Namdapha National park is located at a few kilometer away from Miao in the district of Arunachal Pradesh , in India. The area stretches to the misty hills and lies along the turbulent Noa-Dihing River , the international border between India and Myanmar. The park was declared a Tiger reserve in 1983 and is rich in tropical rain forest, covering an area of 1985.23 sq km.
Major Wildlife Attractions
Namdapha National Park is a gateway to the charming beauty of lushy green vegetation. The forestland is occupied by thick vegetation, broadly classified into tropical, temperate and alpine vegetation. The valley is covered with a mix of Assam valley Tropical Rain forest and North Indian Tropical Moist Deciduous forest. There are more than 150 timber species. One of the rarest and endangered orchids, Blue Vanda grows here.
The mountainous terrain with a number of streams supports a subtropical humid climate upholding some of the best mammalian fauna in the sub-continent. About 60% of the land mammals are generally found in Namdapha and it is the only place in the world which is occupied with 4 big cats in one area. The park is a domicile to India's most evasive wildlife like the thick-set goat-antelope(Mishmi Takin), Bear-cat, the Red Panda, known also as the Cat-bear, the Golden Cat and the Marbled Cat. Other sighted mammals are Tiger, Clouded Leopard, Snow Leopard, Leopard-cat,Wild Dog , Red Panda , Large Indian Civet, Himalayan Palm Civet and Gaur.
The sanctuary is also a home to many species(over 400 species) of birds like Lesser Fish Eagle, Mountain Hawk Eagle, Rufous-bellied Eagle, Pied Falconet, Oriental Hobby, Crested Serpent Eagle, Crested Goshawk.

Things to do in Namdhapha National Park
Trekking and Hiking
A forest camp,Deban in Namdapha National Park is an ideal spot for trekking and hiking. One can also have a soothing sight of the river Nao-Dihing and can stay overnight in the Forest Inspection Bungalow.
Camping
Firmbase situated 25 km away from Deban is popular camping site. Forest department provide the visitors all the equipments and a veteran guide for camping here. Haldibari located 9km from Deban is also a great site for camping activity. One can also enjoy boating so as to reach the spot.
Other camping sites are Camera Point, Bulbulia with several natural springs offers a trilling experience.
Wildlife Watching
Visitiors can enjoy the a list harbivorous animal and colorful birds grazing in a nearby spot, Motijheel located at a distance of 5 Km from Gibbonsland. Hornbill, a place 9k away from Deban is a a homing ground for hornbills. View flocks of birds, flying from one groove to another and make your tour worthwhile.
Adventure Carving
Situated in the southeast periphery of Namdapha is the Gandhigram,a homeland of Lisu Tribe. The village is at a distance of about 120 Km from Deban. Tourist can enjoy a long walk through the thick jungle and explore the village.
Place of Stay at Namdapha Park
A trip to jungle get its ultimate essence with a comfy stay. The park is well furnished with Forest Rent House at Deban and also provides accommodation at the Government Tourist Lodge in Miao. There is also a Rest House at Namchik and a Forest Inspection Bungalow residing near to the river Noa-dihing. The only stress lies in prior reservation.

Assam Transport Corporation and Arunachal Pradesh State Transport provides a daily communication from Dibrugarh to Miao, the entry point of Namdapha. One may also hire a vehicle to reach the destination.
